Lets try and get some sort of guidlines set up for the suspension and/or banning of players. I hope to make this a constructive thread aimed at trying to help the players and the GC's determine what is considered unfair and unruly play. This is a strategy game not just a war game. Or is it?

The rules, as they currently stand, are vague at best and are open to all sorts of interpretation. I hope to use this thread to build some sort of guidlines. Currently it is up to the GC's what they do about a particular situation. However I am not sure that is the best way to deal with it.

I think the community has whinged and !@$#ed long enough and in my opinion this is the last straw for me personally. People whinge and !@$# that the GC's don't do anything, well maybe they don't, but they do not know what we as their players want. How can they possibly police something that is not really defined? Either by us, or as set forth by them.

I hope that this thread will be moderated by someone who can allow debate to continue in an orderly fashion. So please if you have a history of "suiciding" or have been suicided or just want to have your say, please post.

No ideas are stupid, I think we need a clean table when trying to deal with issue. I would also like to know how it has been dealt with in the past, as I have only been here a couple of years.

Maybe this thread could be stickied?

I think we need to ask a few questions first.

How do you define suiciding?

How do you define ruined gameplay?

Suiciding would be the act of intentially using an unprepared country to attack another country that has in some way offended you.

"Unprepared"- If you intentionally prepare to kill a target (i.e. 100% PDS, 150 40-hour missels 29 seal ops, an extensive knowledge of the targets online time and GMT whereabouts, along with numerous political proticals) then the attack, although possibly hazerdous, is not Unprepared.

"Offended"- Although a very vague word, a few commen examples come to mind.

1. Previous set grudges, or cross server grudges... Frowned upon by many, but none the less very widly emplemented.

2. Current set reaction to an aggressers actions... Some people just hate being grabbed 16 days in a row by the same person, even if it was more then 24 hours apart each time... (I've seen it happen)

The examples go on...

As for ruined game play, I use a current example... M0M0 pisses off a bunch of people last set, this set LOS FS's them... is that ruined gameplay? Yes for both teams, M0M0 for throwing !@$# around last month and LOS for bringing a grudge over a reset...

Would I have helped LOS... Yeah, 'cause what M0M0 pulled last set was no better then a filthy suicider.

Despite it not being my "preferred" playing manner, I believe that killing off Groups/Teams should be allowed for the sole purpose of bettering your own rank.

I believe that Breaking NAP's for this goal should not be allowed.

So basically actions should be judged by whether or not they are with the intent to hurt others, or for the gain of the attacker.

IE: Bombing raiding a guy gains you nothing in GS or TS, since Points are not your goal. Killing off the #1 guy while he is on PO, because it moves you all up 1 rank is acceptable.

This is a competitive game... People should strive for #1 however they can.

Krisatz showed the strength of netgaining through war with his Group KKFV.

However bare in mind Kirsatz,.. if you try that !@$# on me,.. ooohh baby I'll go down flailing

I believe that ....

A. Breaking end of round NAPS is ok... It is in fact a game and that if you are going to make a NAP make it with a group you can truly trust... .

B. Suiciding. Killing someones country is ok if there is a good reason such as land fat, war, they are just assholes but killing someones country for the sul purpose of ruining their set is nt ok.

C. Carrying a grudge from round to round is not ok.. this to me is the worst form of suiciding and i call this LITHICIDING....

Suiciding would be the act of intentially using an unprepared country to attack another country that has in some way offended you.

so everyone is supposed to offend you?? and your not supposed to do anything??

i think making a country for the simple fact to kill is more suiciding then an unprepared country.

Yes define suiciding...

I've been suicided apon a few times in a row in the past, still don't know who it was till this day. I asked MM but all he said was that is was a well known player and he played with another account. Even MM could not define suiciding back then so yeah, this is a great initiative Munroe.

This person killed/fubared on me because he didn't LIKE me! well, these are BS reasons, and imo suiciding.

Also I agree with Ivillios' definition of suiciding.

@Peck yes and no...

Dunno how you guys mean NAP breaking in combination with suiciding... like NAP breaking drop tag (or not) and suicide on someone? I usually get NAPS with people I know and can trust. So if someone screws you over like that...oef

I think more people need to post here if we want this to work, or are there to much people that suicided already?

Munroe has a point also... TEQ is a war game AND a strategy game... the balance is gone nowadays... everyone is screaming louder than the other that it is a war game... TEQ is more then that.

so yeah...

*Rasta read it in full, I elaberated on the word Unprepared. I in no way said that you should do nothing about it.*

"NAP Breakers"- I've never really seen this myself... but again I wouls have to refer back to being prepared or unprepared... if startigically your country is ready and you know what you've done, then it is not a suicide... but if you do it in the last min. without having thought it threw, and only 'cause you had hard feelings toward the target, then that is suicideing.

I think we all agree that cross server grudges are way worse than previous sets grudges kept in the same server...

Exemple:
If someone screws me for BS reasons in TS, I might use the next TS set to pay him some special visits (i.e., kill him, or MM/fubar him). There's an action in TS, hence the consequence in TS. Imo, this is not ruining gameplay, it's only keeping things fair.
But I won't screw him over in GS, simply because there was no action there. Everyone who screws this guy also in GS is ruining gameplay imo.

I also think that all the "grudge-suiciding" will end in TEQ3 once you are able to hide your identity/rank. And the only suicides we'll see are the ones resulting from actions taken in that set, which is fair play for me.
