When I returned to TEQ in February, I was told that the Global points formula changed and that the points awarded are somewhat random now, only the 1000 points for rank one are fix. Well, I just looked through all those "Emails!!1!" threads that I could find and found out that the points are not random at all. So, here's all the points that I could gather; it's still incomplete, so feel free to add some information if you have it.Edit: With the information we got, it seems like the formula goes like this: Global points = round(1000*(0,96^(rank-1));0) Rank GP

PS: Of course this doesn't apply 100% to tournament server, there you get extra global points for your points score!

Just remove 4% points per rank to figure out the rest

It's hard to find the functional form... the best I can get is G = 1039.5 * EXP(-0.0405*P) where,
G = number of global points awarded
P = Finishing position

it does: 0.96^0 = 1 ;)I edited the first message according to this formula Strictly following the formula you would get 0 global points with a rank below 188, so I guess the correct formula would be G = min(1;round(1000*(0.96^(P-1);0)))
edit: I found the old global points values somewhere and made a little comparison. I divided the new values by 2 for better comparison. As you can see, rank 2-50 profit a lot from the new formula

Ummm, arent you forgetting?You automatically get 1 point for every round played.... Or at least, thats how I remember it. I used to have a life, now I play TEQ again
